QUARRY WORKERS IN EGYPT

The mineral resources law imposes a fine and a prison sentence for anyone who extracts raw materials without a license, while simultaneously making it harder to obtain a license from the government and military authorities responsible for them. The law has also upped licensing costs for business owners.

With the difficulties imposed by the law on this activity, quarry workers remain in the daily work system without any social or health insurance in the event of injury and illness resulting from the difficult work environment.
